For the past 27 years I’ve had the joy of doing something I love: serving Jesus Christ as a pastor. My wife Sue and I are very pleased to serve here at Abbotsford Baptist Church. As soon as we arrived here in April 2014, we knew we had found a home.
I was born in Vancouver and raised in North Burnaby; Sue was born in Vancouver and has lived in Vancouver, on Texada Island, and in Surrey. Together, we’ve lived in Burnaby, Surrey, Nanaimo, and Langley, and now our home is Abbotsford.
This is a second career for me! The first part of my adult life was in automotive and industrial parts distribution, sales, and management. I became a follower of Jesus as an adult, and after that returned for a Masters degree in pastoral ministry at ACTS Seminaries at Trinity Western University.
Sue is an Orton-Gillingham practitioner-trainer and works with children and sometimes adults with specific reading difference (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia); she also trains new practitioners. She is passionate about her career!
We’re both passionate about our kids and grandkids. We have two children and six grandchildren.
We love camping and spending time with our children and their families. We each have other interests, too: for Sue it’s reading great books; for me, it’s music, playing on our worship team and singing in a men’s choir in Vancouver. Sue loves teaching kids, and is involved I children’s education here at Abby Baptist.
There’s one other thing we are both passionate about: Jesus. We love Jesus and want others to know His love too. That’s what we’re about, and that’s what Abbotsford Baptist is about. We are super-excited about what God is doing here at Abby Baptist. It’s a privilege to be along for the ride and to see God work.
